  • RION DAVIS BIO

HIGH SCHOOL: A.C. Flora CLASS: Senior

    HT./WT.: 6-0, 180

    POS: Safety

    COLLEGE: Uncommitted

    RANKING: 3 stars, 17 in 247 composite

KEY 2013 STATS: 86 tackles, 2 caused fumbles, 3 interceptions, 6 pass breakups

QUOTE: “His athleticism and ability to get to the ball in the air are excellent, and he’s also got the size and speed to be a run-support player.” Falcons defensive coordinator Mark Cagle

It took two seasons of high school football for Rion Davis to demonstrate how talented he is.

As a sophomore safety for A.C. Flora, Davis had his breakout season in 2012, racking up 116 tackles, a sack, and three interceptions (two for touchdowns) and a 92-yard kickoff return touchdown. With that, he put himself squarely among the state’s top 2015 college prospects.

This young man right here on the Offensive side loves the ISO dive, and gave the qb a big "pocket" lol. On defense he is def around the ball alot. Im sure he is going to be wearing 3 on the defensive side, I like how he comes down hill, didnt like that he didnt square up as much on intial contact sort of hit from the side, just not square, very fixable, but he fills his gap very well and puts ball carriers down. He seems to have very soft hands which allowed him to get his hands on and squeeze his INT's. Looks to be another Gary Sampson type player and that has been a good thing.
