May 29, 2014| Lynchburg, Va.|

Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced that Tanner Hartman, a Penn State transfer, has been added to his 2014 football roster.

Hartman (6-6, 290) was one 17 signed recruits as part of Bill O'Brien's 2013 recruiting class at Penn State and the offensive lineman redshirted during the 2013 season.

"We are excited to announce the transfer of Tanner Hartman to Liberty," commented Gill. "Tanner is passionate about the game of football. He is athletic and is a physical player."

Nah, probably 2 hand touch. :I chortle audibly.: (Just kidding BJ!)
In the Spring game, that's exactly what he will play.

To try to answer BJ's question, OL who are 6'6" usually play tackle, where they can use their reach to push pass rushers to the outside. Every tackle at LU since I can remember has been 6'4" or taller, whereas we have had lots of guards and centers in the 6'2"-6'3" range.

Lynchburg actually is not home for Tanner. He's from Christiansburg. I would guess he stayed with a host family while he played at LCA, cause that would be a long commute.

Thank you for actually answering my question olldflame...(very funny flamehunter) he seemed too big to play guard so tackle made the most sense. it will definitely add another interesting dynamic to the battle up front come August
