The end part Medic was referring to...
That poster’s (name withheld) ranking of the class:

...
9. Shaver
10. Brown
11. Connolly

And the guy who received the least chatter on the thread was Mike Brown. I’m not picking on the posters. It’s just interesting to go back four years later and see what people thought about the classes at the time.
You can read the rest on the N and A site, just wanted to point out the 3 at the bottom of the list are now starters. Crazy how that works, football recruiting is really tough to predict.

Yeah look no farther than Texas. Nearly every recruiting class is in the top 10 in the country yet this year they don't even make a bowl game. Recruiting can help but its kinda like the first quarter in a game, it's nice to have the lead but a lot can change before the game is done.

Is it true Gary Mulkins and Grant Jones are both LT? It would seen Grant would get the nod, even this year starting that position.. Sounds like he plyed center as well at LCA. A good crop of recruits. Next year will be fun. It would be nice to have stable and talented OL to unleash the hounds on offense :D

that link to the roanoke times was doug doughty's own personal rankings. I posted a thread on that earlier and mentioned that same thing about us being the only school to have 2 guys in the top 50 form the FCS. Grant was in the top 25 for most of the state article rankings you read but he got the typical drop down for chosing a FCS program. Woodrum is a great player..throws and runs well. It wouldn't surprise me if he is our QB of the future and Gabe stays at WR. Wake and Uva both wanted him but he really liked Liberty. Doughty's list has actually been updated and JMU finally added a kid to the top 100 on there. The only worry i have is that we didn't pick up any WR's. With Curry not enrolling it seems like we lost a ton of talent at WR after this year. These things always seem to work themselves out but it would have been nice to plug a kid in there and redshirt him this year to go with Kelly and Pratt for the next couple years. Who knows maybe Gabe will stay at WR. For some of you guys that have been on here longer than i have, would grant not be the most highly regarded high school recruit we've gotten?

Yeah we will be very thin at WR after this season. Will be interesting to see how that position develops. We may need to keep Gabe there.

Just based on the list of verbals we had...no. Everybody that committed to us (that we know of anyway) signed a LOI on National Signing Day yesterday

The past few years we've had our incoming classes become smaller and smaller and I was just wondering when does this begin to affect the program? I realize we don't need to bring in 22 guys every year but it seems to me the small classes over the last few years might have some affect in the future. Does anybody know?

Every FBS transfer takes up a scholarship position that might have gone to a freshman. We only lost 10 seniors last year. We'll have more room to sign this winter.
