manson...what are you basing your feelings about latrell scott?? he was a soild assistant at tennessee and virginia. he is young and energetic, coached at UR before and is a richmond guy. he has tradtionally been a WR coach and even though UVA's offense was bad, the receiving corps improved quite a bit under his tutelage. sure he is young and you never know how that will work out, but his past tells me he could do a good job. we will see, but i like the hire.

Once again, we'll see. He didn't grab my attention when first announced as head coach. After looking over his resume nothing jumped out at me. I've heard his press conference and on the radio a couple times and I'm just not impressed.

This is a great spot for Wilt to be given the landscape of what was on the table... They just pulled in USC backup QB Aaron Corp on Thursday night and they have more on the way... expect to see more of the Groh staff end up in Richmond before it's all said and done here in the next few weeks. Sept 4th will be interesting when Richmond opens up at UVA...

Next Stop, Ball State ...

Ball State head football coach Pete Lembo has announced the hiring of eight assistant coaches for the 2011 season.

Daryl Dixon and Joey Lynch have been retained from the 2010 Ball State coaching staff, while four members of Lembo's 2010 staff at Elon -- Jay Bateman, Keith Gaither, Rich Skrosky and John Strollo -- will join the Cardinals. In addition, Justin Lustig and Chad Wilt will serve as assistant coaches at Ball State. Lembo has one full-time coaching position yet to be filled.

I'm still very thight with Wilt and he is pretty happy to go back home to Indiana. He doesn't really have a relationship with anybody on the staff...but Pete Lembo was really impressed with the way that he recruits and wanted him and his ties to the state on his staff.
