If you saw the Coastal game we basically let their receivers and TEs run wild through the middle of the field. if we were to tighten that up I think we are going to see some significant drops in a lot of defensive numbersolldflame wrote:I love Chase Barnette's game and would really like to see him get more carries also. My understanding is that he has not been playing because he has some nagging injuries and has just not been healthy enough to utilize the burst and sharp cuts that set him apart from our other tailbacks.
Now we are starting to see a little something in common. Chase Barnett is a helluva RB who ran out of the I in HS but is to small to do this 20 plus times in college so if there isn't some way to maximize his potential, he'll do as he does now and wait for a few carries here and there. Chase is a slot RB who could also contribute in wishbone or any offense but he can't do what Rashard did. Guess I'm trying to say he's a different RB but in the current offense he'll just be as is now. I do know about the injuries too and hope he is healthy in the spring. The scrub RB you highlited, I didn't know he missed summer camp so you are correct, hasn't even carried the ball. When he does, just remember where you heard the name, then chuckle when you think back to the scrub comment and just know I am switching the offense up some so the running game becomes a weapon that compliments the QB and WR.
Where is the weak defensive link? Where is the problem? I missed the Coastal and Robert Morris games but where does the defense need help at? I thought the DL has been solid, linebackers but the number of points they give is not good. The JMU game though, they played well and in this impact game I thought the offense was the problem and the ability to make the short yardage down in the red zone. Don't mean to type alot but you will find that, I love the Lord and love Football, might not have seen as much Liberty Football like some but I'm learning.
