Scout.com recently talked with Arundel High School (Gambrills, MD) 2010 linebacker Bobby Partilla. The talented player didn’t take long deciding where he wanted to spend his college days.

Bobby Partilla has ended his recruiting earlier than many anticipated. After a busy camp and combine schedule Partilla has decided to commit to one of his camp stops. Partilla will be taking his abilities to Liberty University in Virginia.
“I went to their camp and I really liked the school,” said Partilla. “I saw the campus and was around the school. I feel it fits me very well. The coaches are great and I like the football program. They wanted me and it felt right so I committed.

Information is somewhat sketchy, but he does seem to have very good quickness. Two 40-yard dash times are listed. One is 4.49 which is very, very fast for an LB and the other is a 4.77 which is still fast, but not close to a 4.49. I would guess the 4.77 is the real time since it was taken at a combine.

Partilla will bring spark to Wildcats' defense from middle linebacker position

As a 6-foot, 190-pound sophomore middle linebacker in 2007, Arundel High School’s Bobby Partilla was asked to play a major role amongst a sea of experienced seniors, including Arinze Obiako, Michael Inyang, David Mason and Ben Hutchinson. Injuries limited him the first half of the season, but Partilla returned long enough to experience and contribute to the Wildcats’ run to M&T Bank Stadium and the state final, falling to Quince Orchard, 36-30.

Less than nine months later, Partilla finds himself the newly established leader of defensive coordinator Vinnie Elliott’s linebacker corps, getting the keys to the defense just one day after getting his driver's license.

Arundel Senior High School is known for producing productive wide receivers from their dynamic offense and this year they also have a solid defensive prospect as well in linebacker Bobby Partilla. Recruiting is just starting to ramp up for Partilla, so not many schools have been in heavy contact, but he talked to Scout.com about what he’s looking for.

Bobby Partilla, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound middle linebacker from Arundel Senior High School in Gambrills, Md., had a very productive junior year and is hoping his performance at camps this summer will help him to get more looks in his college recruiting.

“The four main schools I’ve been hearing from are Syracuse, Cincinnati, Duke and Northwestern,” Partilla stated. “I’m definitely going to try and do some camps this summer, but I don’t have anything set in stone yet.”

LB Partilla delivers the pain, but is he ready for college?

Dave Lomonico
MDHigh.com

Arundel linebacker Bobby Partilla not only delivers the pain, he takes in his fair share as well. But like an English rugby player, he basks in it, feeds off it. Broken hand? He'll rack up 10 tackles easy. Sports hernia? That's good for 15 more.

Now, Partilla isn't exactly a narcissist, but it's not like he shies away from injury either.

"I've played through a lot [of injuries]," Partilla said. "I guess you could say I'm a pretty tough guy."

Partilla has three D I-AA schools interested in him.

Last year, he played for four weeks with an infected lymph node in his groin area. The node swelled up to the size of a walnut, which caused him severe discomfort.

"I've never been in so much pain in my life," Partilla said. "That lymph node hurt so bad."

ESPNRISE.com wrote:Bobby Partilla, LB, Arundel -- Arundel's offense gets most of the attention, but its defense is not without star power. The 6-foot, 215-pound Partilla has been a starter the past two seasons for the Wildcats and is expected to start his senior season.

"He's been a leader for the last three years," Arundel coach Chuck Markiewicz said. "He's become more vocal -- he knows the defense. It's always nice to have someone on the field that knows as much as the coach. He knows all the checks and all the tendencies."

Partilla will be one of five linebackers returning for Arundel this season. Last year, the junior recorded 113 tackles and two sacks.

Sounds like the author meant masochist rather than narcissist. Makes more sense that way, anyway.
