I just got home as well and would like to say thanks to Baldspot for watching after my kids. Seriously, very nice meeting you and hope to take in another football game with you soon. I also thought we showed well on the road in terms of our travel numbers. Lots of Liberty fans in the house. The tent was a great set up - cudos to Bob, Jeff, and Heather and crew. Lots of nice LU give aways and the posters went right up in the boys rooms. As for the game...

we had some chances. Defense was super all night. The scoring drive at the beginning of the 3rd they worked the flats almost exclusively and put together a nice drive. We got pretty good pressure on them most of the night and overall were pretty stout inside stopping the run. We made them drive the ball and didn't give up any cheap scores. We play that kind of D all years and we will win some games.

Offensively we got no push up front at all in the running game. Dropped passes really hurt - a huge drop in the third quarter killed a promising drive in Towson territory. Brock played very well in the fourth - made some nice throws and had a big time run to get us in FG range. The delay of game on the goalline was bad. Our guys broke the huddle with 9 seconds, walked to the LOS, went threw the pre snap reads and the time expired. Young mistake but a killer on that drive. The O battled all night and the effort was there. even on the fumble that killed the final drive - the kid was turning up field fighting for yards and the ball just popped out in a crowd.

Big thing I noticed was effort. At the end of the game the D was totally gassed - but they kept fighting and running to the ball. Towson made a couple of big plays in the fourth and our guys couldn;t get off the field, but they stiffened and held to a FG which was a feat if you could have seen how gassed they were. Once Rocco gets a few recruiting classes under his belt and we develop some depth - on both sides of the ball - we're going to have a solid program.

The effort is there. I think we are going a win a few games this year. I was disappointed in the loss, but proud of the fans and team. we put up a good account of ourselves tonight all the way around.

That's the understatement of the night.

I passed up ESPN Zone and came home with a few friends and just got in.

Defense was great like everyone said.

Someone explain to me why Zach Terrell was in the game maybe 10 plays? It's not that Brock played bad because he didn't, but anytime Zach touched the ball other than that draw play we moved the ball.

Our boys need to catch the ball. That's all I'll say about that.

Greiser's grandma called the pass over the middle to Rashad. She told me we need to start doing that and the very next play they did. It was pretty cool.

On the last play for our offense, Rashad was open on the left side and probably would've scored a touchdown. Brock saw the other guy open first and went to him.

Our O-Line got dominated.

We need to learn what the 25 second clock is.

We'll win next week. However, if our offense plays like they did tonight in any other game this year, we'll win 2-3 more games at most.

missed the entire game- was out of town for the evening- but kept an eye on the ESPN bottom line.

Without even seeing/hearing anything- it appeared to be a real defensive battle. We've always had confidence in our D, and to play like that on the road is impressive. Evidently the worries about THAT half of the team coming our flat was unwarrented.

Would we have been more effective w/ #7 at QB? From reading here, it appears he played pretty well. Then again, Brock needs to gain confidence and experience, that comes w/ playing time. Either way- Rocco has shown he can and WILL make changes IMMEDIATELY (see: kicking game) to help this team.

Interesting to see how he game plans our upcoming conf matchups. (and I'm not including the Sav St game because, well- it goes without saying that the level of comp is probably less than Glenville)

Keep the faith- the season is NOT remotely over.

Dropped passes really hurt us yesterday. 2 were sure TD's and the other one a first down. Can't blame Brock Smith of those since the throws were right there. The O Line has got to do better.

That loss hurt since we had opportunities to beat an okay team but there are 2 more chances to beat quality 1AA opponents ( William & Mary and Western Carolina). If we improve then those are possible wins at home. I would like to see at least a split. Coastal is definately beatable even on at their place. I am not totally writing off the Wake game as a L yet. If we catch them napping we could pull off a major surprise ( Look at what Wofford and Furman almost did yesterday vs the 1A's). I don't think that 59-0 is acceptable this season. The rest of the games should be W's without a doubt. Too early to write LU off just yet. We should get better throught the year as players adjust to the new system.

I agree with Stevev, a couple catches on perfectly thrown balls and perhaps a little better managing the play clock and we win the game. I think we can correct those and still have a nice year.

Zach played well. Brock played very well in the 2nd half. No one should take anything away from Brock. On that last drive he did what he needed to do. The drive before that he did what he was supposed to do. Dropped passes and fumbles killed us.

The only thing is I'd like to see Zach in the game more, no matter the position. When we go shotgun with Rashad and Stokes both in the game, everyone knows we're passing the ball. With shotgun and Rashad/Zach in the backfield, there's a threat to run either way.

Good luck the rest of the way guys. It seems like your team is much improved and I think it came down to two defenses playing near the top of their games, and both offenses looking like they couldn't find the right forumla until late in the game. Towson's passing offense is one of the best in the A-10 and Liberty's gameplan rushing just 4 and sometimes 3 and dropping seven back had Sean Schaefer baffled in the first half. He's a heckuva quarterback, who's slumped the 2nd half of our Elon game and the first half of the Liberty game. Kind of lost confidence for a moment and it doesn't help when you're running game is non-existant. Obviously the coverage was very good, because I've never seen him so hesitant to throw the ball, when he had time.

You guys are definitely headed in the right direction and I liked the attitude of Rocco, who wasn't into moral victories. Kind of wish our coach had taken a harsher tone with the "ugly" win, but he's a defensive coach, so I guess he was looking at holding a team to three points as a huge positive, which it was.

im a little late chiming in, but our defense is very, very good. we really shut down their spread attack, and if we could have mustered any offense we win the game. our recievers did not do a good job, the running game was stale and braokc really struggled. i applaud rocco for sticking with one QB though instead of what one of his mentors an hour away has been doing all season  i could only listen on the radio, but coach rocco's post-game comments were excellent, and i fully expect us to bounce back next week. im not gonna panic just yet on the offense, let's get savannah next week.

Sav state would be a good tuneup especially for the offense to improve and to work on new offensive sets. The subs should all be in there by halftime.
