Libertine, Chris, or anyone else, if you get any info on the kid that was injured in the first half it'd be great. It was tough to tell what the injury was (we were thinking leg) or how serious. They took him out on a stretcher so it had to have been somewhat serious.

I was told broken ankle by someone close to the situation, but the Glenville athletic trainer couldn't confirm because of HIPAA rules (basically, the issuing of an injury report has to be approved first by the athlete, and she didn't have said approval).

#10 Gordy Newsome, a sophomore from Huntington, WV. I don't know exactly what happened to him but it did look like it was probably his leg. I don't know how serious his injury is but if you see a guy going off on a stretcher, it's probably not something simple and he's probably not coming back anytime soon. Anytime EMTs have to come onto the field, it just makes me sick. My prayers are definitely with that kid.

cane fan, I had heard that too. Went with the ankle because I trusted the heck out of the source I spoke to. HIPAA rules suck.

I figured there were rules that you guys couldn't say certain things.

I was actually proud of the students that they sat down and didn't taunt the players or anything during that time.

Femur... out 6-8 months according to the docs on the sideline... you guys have to bring walkman radios to the game, then you will know these things.

In all seriousness though... he was in a lot of pain and you could tell it took the wind out of his team. Hopefully he will recover quickly.

See, I tried calling people (*cough*Medic*cough*) to see what the radio was saying because it's hard for me to use a radio while at the game.
