Here is my take:

@WVU They may be without Pat White but they certainly still have weapoms. LU hangs tight but the Mountaineers take it at home WVU 35 LU 21 0-1

vs. NC Central LU hasnt lost a home opener since aug 31 2002 (23-3 vs Western Carolina) absolutely electric atmosphere...LU 49-NCCU 7 1-1

@Lafayette This next two weeks really will tell jus thow we're going to do the rest of the year. LU hasnt done too well in road games but did go 2-0 in road games out of conference last year. I think the FLames take this one in a squeaker LU 28 LC 24 2-1

vs. JMU The Dukes are probably going to come into this one top 5 in the country (at worst top 10) This one is probably the biggest game we have all year and its the biggest home game we've had in a LONG time. Another electric atmosphere stokes the Flames and they win in a big upset LU 34 JMU 27 3-1

vs. West Virginia Wesleyan LU hasnt lost to a DII or lower program at home since 1993. That isnt changing this time...LU in a huge rout LU 63 WVW 0 4-1

vs. Coastal Carolina Its Homecoming and LU will be feelin good. Flames give the alumni (and all the other fans in attendance) plenty to cheer about LU 49 CCU 14 5-1 1-0

@ Charleston Southern Theyre headed in the right direction but the Buc stops here LU 31 CSU 10 6-1 2-0

vs. Presbyterian THe BLue Hose caught LU by surprise last year in CLinton, but theyre in our house this time and there wont be any surprises this time LU 35 PC 7 7-1 3-0

vs. VMI Last time the Keydets came to LU, the FLames either set or NEARLY set a bunch of records on the offensive side. I think we could be in for another shootout LU 56 VMI 35 8-1 4-0

@ Gardner-Webb The boys from Boiling Spring got collared last time as LU clinched their first conference title. It wont be as dominating but LU sets up another Big South Championship game in the final week with a win LU 24 G-W 20 9-1 5-0

@ Stony Brook This one not only will decide the conference champion, but LU's playoff hopes will be riding on this game. Coach ROcco will have the boys ready to play and they nail down their 3rd straight title and first ever playoff bid with a dogfight of a win in NY LU 49 SBU 42 10-1 6-0

I'll just copy n paste what I said on this thread, with a few additions.

09/05 - 7:00 PM - @ West Virginia As much as I 'd LOVE to see them win this one (I know too many WVU fans, and would love to rub their noses in an LU win), this is obviously a money game and a loss. HOWEVER, I think Liberty plays this one closer than anyone expects, and the loss will give our team some respect.
09/12 - ... TBA ... - NC Central Win
09/19 - ... TBA ... - @ Lafayette Close win, revenge for last year. Probably a very close game, but we're going to be much more prepared than last time.
09/26 - ... TBA ... - JMU On the road, this is a loss. At home, this is winable, but I'm going to predict a close loss.
10/03 - ... TBA ... - WV Wesleyan Win
10/10 - ... TBA ... - Open
10/17 - ... TBA ... - Coastal Carolina* (Homecoming) Win. The Flames have a good track record for wins when I'm at the game
10/24 - 1:30 PM - @ Charleston Southern* Win
10/31 - ... TBA ... - Presbyterian Win by a ton - once again, revenge.
11/07 - ... TBA ... - VMI* Win, probably closer than we want.
11/14 - ... TBA ... - @ Gardner-Webb* Win
11/21 - ... TBA ... - @ Stony Brook* This one scares me, especially since it's on the road, but I see a win here. Close game, though.

9-2 on the season. Originally I said we'd be playing Richmond, Elon, or Appy State in the playoffs, but I'm not so sure now. I'm kinda agreeing with SJ about how we get in the playoffs this season. If we win big at Lafayette, and the game against Madison is close, we stand a chance, but I'm not banking on it.

I agree with your picks, BJ. Although I would LOVE to see LU cream the Mountaineers, I say there would have to be a miracle. But ya never know...Look what we did to Elon last year! But, then again, WV is in the FBS.

@ West Virginia…. I just hope none of our starters get hurt in this tune up game for WVU. I would love to think we would keep the game close, but if we score at least twice I'm going to be happy. (0-1)

vs. North Carolina Central…. This is our tune up game. Central sucks. If we don't win this one, we are looking at a long season. I say we win. (1-1)

@ Lafayette… As much as I would like to say we will definitely win, I'm just not sure. I think we definitely have the revenge factor going for us. This game could go either way. However, I say we pull one out and get our revenge. (2-1)

vs. James Madison… This is a tough pick. I think JMU will be ranked high, but I don't think this will scare our guys. If we are in fact 2-1 and if we handily beat Central, with our only loss being to West Virginia, we could be ranked too at this point. If this game was at JMU, I would count this one as a loss, no questions. But I see our crowd being a factor and I think our guys will pull the upset. (3-1)

vs. West Va Wesleyan… Might be closer than we expect because of the hard fight against JMU, but we still win. (4-1)

vs. Coastal… Homecoming, Coastal… Beat Coastal. (5-1, 1-0)

@ Charleston Southern… I don't see us losing this one, even in Charleston. (6-1, 2-0)

vs. Presbyterian… 11/1/08 - This one is going to be really sweet! Big win. All of our guys will remember being embarrassed by them last year. And they will remember that the reason we were left out of the playoffs is because of Presby. Can't wait for this game. (7-1, 3-0)

vs. VMI… If this game was in Lexington, I would think about picking VMI. But this game is at Williams Stadium. We win. (8-1, 4-0)

@ Gardner Webb… A few of you guys picked G-Dub to be the only Big South team to beat us this year. Why? (9-1, 5-0)

@ Stony Brook… This game being at Stony Brook scares me. The weather could be a factor because it will be cold up there. Maybe Rocco will crank up the AC in the FOC, haha. I say we pull out a win. (10-1, 6-0)

Yeah, maybe I'm a homer. But I think this team has a lot of potential. I like our QB situation. I think if either Mike Brown or Beecher is our QB, we will be a very scary team. With Landis we will be good, but I just don't see him winning close games for us. I hope Brown is our QB next season. And I know our RB situation is a big question mark, but with this many RB's coming in, I say at least one of them can carry the load. But I think it will be more a team effort at RB with no big standout. Either way I think we will have another explosive offense and our defense is going to be strong IMHO. Even if we lose to both JMU and Laffy, I still say an 8-3 year with no playoffs is no rebuilding year. If we once again dominate the Big South, then we have accomplished the exact same thing we did last year. We may not make the playoffs this year, or next year, but we will make the playoffs soon. Our program is going in the right direction.

this is kind of off topic, but i just realized that the chances of me being back in the burg for the JMU game are very good...which makes me incredibly excited

with that said I think we got 8-3 this year with losses to west virginia, jmu and one of our Big South games...no playoffs

Probably due to our defense being quite stout this season if we stay healthy. However, as long as Doolittle is our starting QB, the Big South has little to fear. Doolittle getting put on the pine is unlikely as well, since his dad is on the coaching staff.

Yeah, but honestly I just don't see our one loss in the Big South being you guys. I would say its more likely to be VMI or Stoney Brook before its G-Dub. But that's only my opinion. Maybe you guys will prove me wrong. Who knows?
