We have had numerous recruits that have been listed on "All American" publications but I am not aware of any legitimate 1st or 2nd team players. Recruits in the past that have been on Street & Smiths or College sports publications are Ben Anderson, Ulysses Moore, Kyle Painter, John Davis, Travis Johnson, and Ryan Geiser to name a few. Most of Karchers "big names" left the program. This year's list includes Terry Williams, Terry Adams, and Adam Trowbridge. In order to recruit higher we have to change other's perception of LU's program. We need to emphasize our future goals and upgraded facilities. We need to de-emphasize our involvement with the Big South conference and this years "weak" schedule. Just my opinion.

I don't know about the All-American thing, but if LU can get guys like this then gaining prominence in I-A or Bowl Subdivision or whatever they decided to call it now may happen earlier than later. LU needs to somehow rise to be the first place of choice for these players:
2003...Back in January, the Ohio State Buckeyes pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the history of college football. Going into the Fiesta Bowl championship game, they were 11 ½ point underdogs to the defending champion Miami Hurricanes. But as they did so often during the season, the Buckeyes found a way to beat a more talented and favored team.
Their stunning win brought national attention to the fact that the Buckeyes’ coach, Jim Tressel, and several of his players are professing Christians. For anyone who has ever surveyed the competitive landscape, wondered if faith makes you “soft” and asked, “Can Christians really be winners?” the Buckeyes’ success answers a resounding “yes.” It seems to imply that living by Christian principles isn’t a handicap and may even give the winning edge."
