How did Asa Chapman do this year? I used to work in the WVU football broadcast booth and he was a WVU commit at one time. Just curious how he did this year and what your impression was of him.

Not bad from what I saw. He still is raw but when he was able to leverage he did some damage. We expect a great deal more from him in '09.

We had an all-conference Senior nose guard playing ahead of him, but Asa saw a good bit of action, and I thought he improved as the season progressed.

Here's a question for a WVU fan, I watched Scooter Berry play in HS (mainly because I went to see Jason Gwaltney but I know that's a sensitive subject), what kind of year did he have?

Scooter was probably they're best defensive lineman. Has turned out to be a very, very good player for the Mountaineers. Since Gwaltney was a bust and one of the reasons Berry came was bc they're related at least WVU got something good out of that fiasco.

Scooter is a stud. He is probably the Mountaineers best defensive lineman. If he continues to develop, he could have an NFL future. As another poster mentioned, its kind of ironic in that WVU went after Berry mainly to get his half-brother, Gwaltney. Gwaltney was a total bust, but Scooter is having a great career.

Asa came on at the end of the year. Rocco mentioned him frequently in postgame interviews in November. Good sign for his progress.
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
