Rashad and Steve Ackley both won this week.

Rashad won Big South POTW in four of his nine games. There's no doubt in my mind he's Offensive POTY.

Of our 11 games this year, we had Big South POTW six times.

You could make a case for us to win all four end of the year honors, but that's a different thread.

Congrats to both guys. But I'll bet it liked to kill Kyle to let this release out of the office.

Would you be surprised to see Jerome Simpson the WR from Coastal win it? There is no doubt that he was the BS office choice. They over- hyped him during the pre-season and it never seemed to let up. I'm thniking Jennings should win, but you have to give a lot of thought to Smith. He ended up being the best QB in the BS. Who would have thought that would happen a couple of months ago? How about special teams POTY? Which of the three LU guys should get that ... probably Noah. Defensively they'll choose someone from another school ... not LU.

I voted Jennings OFF POY and GW's Brian Johnston DEF POY. ... I'd be surprised if that's not how it ended up.

I think it'll be:

Offensive: Rashad. Jerome is great, and could very well be the best player in the conference, but he didn't have a quarterback to get him the ball this year.

Defense: Probably the kid from Gardner-Webb (Brian Johnston). You can make a case for Vince but they won't give us everything.

Special Teams: Dominic. That kid completely changed games on kickoffs. You could also make a case for Noah.

Freshman: Probably Jeffrey Williams from Gardner-Webb. Eric O'Neal from Coastal would be second.

Coach: Rocco. Hands down.

Well screw you Chris. There should be.

Haha, I don't know why I said screw you Chris, just felt right.

No offense taken ... just realize there's a chance that people will look at pure numbers when it comes to selecting all-conference KR and pick Maypray over Bolden.

Maypray's good. He just didn't impress me at all against our kickoff team. Bolden also won national player of the week one time, Maypray didn't.

Who do you think gets freshman?

How soon we forget Wynton Jackson??

He had a pretty good year before he got hurt.

He did, and I love Wynton (I'm doing my All-American project on him) and feel he will be all-conference, but Dominic had better numbers in the kick return game. Wynton's a much better punt returner and Bolden is the better kick returner.

Props to our boys for the awards! I actually started a discussion about end of season awards but it got buried by all the talk going into this last game and the celebration thereafter

My guess:

Offense: Rashad

Defense: Jada Ross, the LB at CSU and the Big South's leading tackler. He wasn't exactly a game-changer but I don't think Johnston was either.

Freshman: Williams

Coach: Rocco, hands down

Then you're both wrong.

DPOY was Johnston. It's the right call. Kid was a game wrecker while consistently battling double teams. One of the top 5 in the country in TFL. Legit NFL prospect. Ross racked up huge amounts of tackles because the CSU defensive line was bad.

LU got 22 guys on the first and second teams. 13 on the first team. Jennings OPOY, Rocco COY, Williams from GWU FOY.
