You go 8-3 in the CAA, you're a stone cold lock. If Hofstra wins, they are in. I'd be willing to put some money on that one.

Seven DI wins, as has been correctly pointed out, is a guideline, not a hard-and-fast rule.

Hofstra is stout this year. A few bad losses but good wins over FURMAN and a CRUSHING WIN over W&M

IF hofsta wins and they are a lock. because as i've said before. the CAA has only had 4 teams chosen from their confrence one time by the selection committee. correct me if i'm wrong but i think it was in 97.

Nope, it was '04...the year JMU won the title. JMU, W&M and two others made the playoffs. If Hofstra wins, they're in...an 8-3 school in the CAA is much, much more attractive than LU at 8-3 this year.

I stand corrected. I still say they aren't a lock because their losses look a lot worse than ours.

Mark Edwards at the Flames Sports Network said that Appalachian State's network, which carries the FCS selection show live, called FSN and asked if they wanted to carry the show. That's never happened before. I'm not reading anything into this. Just presenting a fact.
