This game has been the highlight of our schedule the past few years. And now that our CCU game week has arrived, it is setting up to be just as big. Anybody else tired of losing to the Beach Chickens? They are back in our house Saturday afternoon and the 3-time defending league champs look very vulnerable despite being given all three major awards this week by the Big South for barely getting by VMI at home. The Chants have yet to win on the road in 2007.

I think Tolbert is going to be the problem- according to their guys- Will just doesn't seem to be able to get the ball to Simp with any regularity

Jerome IS dangerous, no doubt- but I think the D line and LBs will really have to keep an eye on #40 and maybe force them into a throw first mentality (esp if we go up on them, early)

if they go to a throw-most-of-the-time game plan, I think we win handily. Which is odd, considering the history between these 2 teams.

Here is something from Chris in the morning fishwrap ...
LU Notebook: Flames have been waiting for the Coastal Carolina game

By Chris Lang
Lynchburg News & Advance
October 31, 2007

When Danny Rocco was on Bill McCartney's staff at Colorado in 1987, a schedule hung on the wall in the team meeting room. Every opponent was written in black, save for one, signifying the "red-letter game."

"The red-letter game was the team that was the champion," Rocco said. "It was Nebraska at the time."

Neither coach in the Liberty-Coastal Carolina matchup wants any part of the word "rivalry" when talking about the schools. But both understand the magnitude of Saturday's game at Williams Stadium.

Check this quote in the article Sly lists:
"I always thought Liberty was the sleeping giant," said Coastal Carolina coach David Bennett, whose team faces LU Saturday at Williams Stadium. "Now they've been awoken, and they're ready to play."

For the MASN feed, it will be a MASN produced and hosted game with Orioles play by play man Jim Hunter and former Raven Wally Williams

The classification info came from the official CCU roster. But the descriptions were so confusing I likely have some of that info incorrect in regard to rtedshirt years. The SID down there could make things much easier if he followed standard roster protocol.

It's been pretty busy in the ticket office guys. I think we're going to have a pretty solid community showing. Alot of students parents are coming up for this game too, which is uncharacteristic this close to Thanksgiving. It should be fun.

But, I'll have to stick with listening to the game, though...I have a feeling it'll be a sell-out!

I've checked everywhere, but I thought maybe one of you might know more, is there video stream available anywhere?? I'd love to see those RED jerseys. Otherwise, I'll just have to listen to the COLORFUL commentary via the radio!!!!
