Since moving to Lexington KY 6 years ago I've been a fan of the UK football team. I've been to several SEC stadiums over the past few years including TN, LSU, ARK and GA. A ritual that ALL those schools have is a pre-game "walk" where the fans get to greet the team coming into the stadium. Here in Lexington we call it the Cat Walk. At TN they call in the Vol Walk and so forth. This past Sat we had around 12,000-15,000 show up for the cat walk. A siren sounds 15 minutes before to let all the tailgaters know to start moving over to the catwalk.. The cheerleaders and the drum line are there as well as. Liberty is in need of tradition. This would be a great one to start.

At most schools the tailgaters take a break to greet the players as they walk into the stadium. Does our team walk into either the FOC or the stadium together as a unit? If so, this sounds like a great addition to our tailgating tradition-building.

If I'm not mistaken they just all meet in the FOC whenever they get there.

I think they arrive together, perhaps by bus. They may come in shifts, but it was around 4:30 or 5 on Saturday.

Perhaps this could be arranged with the folks in the Football Office. I doubt they'd be disappointed in having fans get them juiced up as they arrived in the FOC.

At Texas (yeah, I know), they walk in through a tunnel at the north side of the stadium past the band and fans and then walk across the empty field to the fieldhouse to remind them of the business at hand.

The problem is the FOC is the furthest place away from most of the tailgating (P1). The people in LaHaye and David's Place would be ok, but the people in P1 would have to miss 30-45 mins of tailgating.

Speaking of Pre-Game traditions. May they never again include "Rappers" hollering "Let's go Get 'em". I know a portion of the Students like rap, but shouldn't we try to appeal to a larger segment?

Who me, Old. Dud I am not old, I'm not even 40. OK I do have 4 kids and I'm Bald, but not old. I was trying to eat my dinner right before the game and the Rap was so loud (mind you I was by the press box) I was a keyed up mess. :oldhag
Play some rock or something. I'd have rather heard SJ singing the Fight Song over and over for 2 hours. I dare say Kendra wuld have even been better, NOT! OK I went too far. How about Doug Oldham?
