I definitely agree. I used to be a huge madden fan and then I played college football and I never went back to Madden. The dynasty mode in college football is just amazing.

I have it for PS3 but EA has really bombed with their online issues this year. I've played 8 games against a friend of mine and 3 of them were disconnected late in the second half with neither of us getting a win/loss. The lobbies also freeze up at times and make you quit the game. Apparently from what I've read they've completely removed the challenge option online now since that was causing a lot of disconnects the past couple days.

It's the EA servers. They have acknowledged the problem just haven't fixed it yet.

this is how they should label madden until their exclusivity contract runs out..

i have it for 360.

The game has changed in several aspects this year. I feel that it is by far the best football game out there. The college game is easier and the dynasty mode is sweet, but madden is IMO tons better.

It's not a roster update, they really did a bunch of new things to the game. And certainly from '06, when McNabb was on the cover -- that game was rushed onto the market because of the next-gen switch. Seriously, if you haven't gotten a new Madden since '06, now's the time.

Also -- the NFL approached EA about the exclusivity deal, not the other way around. And when it was renewed a few months ago, it was the same thing -- the NFL approached EA about it. You can't blame EA without blaming the NFL if you think the lack of competition caused the game to suffer.

I feel like this thread is taking place in 2109 and inflation has gone up where these games are actually this price

The PS3 game play still stinks.

The online features are nice and the Franchise is a bit deeper...but I can't stand the game play. A dud from EA Sports, IMO, esp. because NCAA 09 was such a good game.

i thought that madden was a dropoff since about 04....and i think the ncaa 09 also took a step back...college football for ps2 was AMAZING...ncaa 09 is still the best football game out there but i think the ps3 version took a step back in the gameplay

This is more a football-related question, but once I snap the ball, is there a set order I go through my QB reads? Usually, once I snap I check to see the coverage the safeties are in, followed by the linebackers. After that, I kinda wing it. Should I look X Z Y receivers in that order? Does it vary from play to play? Help, please...

Check the linebacker to see if he is in man or zone. Then look safety to see whether they are deep are in. If they are in man then any out route normally works. If the safety comes in then the post will work. If the safeties are in cover 2 AND the Linebackers and corners are also in zone, and you are passing, You are S.O.L.

this is my general Madden progression.

back when i used to play (mid 2000s was when I last played), i just ran whatever play I wanted to and normally won every game with relative ease. and no i wasnt playing on the two easiest difficulty levels.

That strategy doesn't work anymore.
