Tell them you don't have a gun permit--I am sure that is a requirement for working at the Miller Park pool!

ahh Miller park. For everyone that's taken earth science and had to collect a million pounds of aluminum for recycling for extra credit: I went to milller park and looked in their bushes. I didn't need to go anywhere else. I must have collected 9 or 10 trashbags full of malt liquor aluminum cans. That must be THE premier site to get drunk.

Tell them you don't have a gun license or just man up and say hey this is not going to work, I doubt that you will be trying to get another job with Park & Recreation again anyways and if you don't collect a paycheck not like you have to list it on past employement

Just tell them you have a problem with parks ever since...'The Incident'. When they ask you "What incident?", just tell them you'd rather not talk about it and start twitching slightly.

Just be honest and say you fear for your safety. If you're not, now, you will be, soon.

AG-thats why I quit...and listed that what I've heard from other people that it wasn't safe and I didn't wanna do it...they said they respected that decision, but the problems had all happened "in the past"

Do people realize that literally everything has happened in the past? I loved it when Mark McGuire used that one in front of congress.

So nobody was being capped at anypoint during your conversation, I guess. They've got a point.
