I love my Dish Network package that brings me MASN for my Oriole games, and now they will be showing LU, too.

Well the football game got me looking for what else the offered and then I called about the DVR offer and they told me they didnt have the equipment but could find some and get it to me for $400... I cussed them and told them that I would cancel my package and direct tv would give me what I wanted for cheaper and the lady said "That sounds like a great deal and you should take it" WHAAAAAAAAT?! You WANT to lose my money?! Wowwwww.... So I signed up for Directtv tonight and they gave me a bunch of free stuff including Sunday Ticket and MASN and ESPNU 8) and my bill will be $15 cheaper than my Dish... Its a much longer story, but thats the basics.

But doesn't Direct TV give you a cheap introductory rate for the first few months to get you hooked and then they really hike up their prices? I hope you read the fine print. See where it says that the rate is "for 12 months" only?

only 10 dollars more and infinitely free sunday ticket? wow they suckered you real good. good luck trying to keep that sunday ticket for free and not having your bill be hiked up by more than 10 bucks after your intoductory offer is over...

pshaw- DirecTv rules.

I just can't get any Comcast Philly events up here. Other than that, I love it.

And MASN is blacked out half the time.

Still no FamilyNet, either.

Who provides your local phone service? Surely they have fiber in Suburban Philly by now. Verizon & AT&T both offer FamilyNet on their cheapest tier.

getting it on my street this month- but not convinced about it yet.

We have Verizon FIOS at work and I truly believe my DSL at home is faster, and my DirecTv is DEFINITELY better.

maybe just the package we have? :dontgetit

Well don't ever go comcast if that's an option, Dish or Directv is a vastly superior option. Actually, if you go by what you get for what you pay, I think it would be extremely difficult to find a cable company that provided as many channels for the same price as dish or direct tv would...

If they told you that you're getting Sunday Ticket for free, you got lied to. They pay a lot of money to keep the rights to that and they're not gonna just give it to you. The fact that you can pay $400 a year to get it is the incentive to switch in itself.

DirectTV's customer service is an absolute nightmare until you get to a manager. But not having Sunday Ticket just isn't an option.

unday ticket is a nice option to have, but $400 seems like an awful lot of money seeing as how you're paying to have the option to watch terrible games like arizona vs. st. louis or miami vs. oakland, for example, basically games you most likely will never ever watch unless you're a fan of the team.

Unless you get in on the early bird for $250.

Still not worth it.

With that being said, I like DirecTV.

It's worth it if you're a diehard fan transplanted in Bengals-land USA. I couldn't stomach the idea of watching the Bengals play every week.

well the first problem is that you moved to bengals land in the first place lol

Easy now. I am surprised you aren't force fed the Steelers in Parkersburg.

Sunday Ticket is worth every penny...To be forced to watch the Redskins, Ravens and Panthers EVERY week on local network TV is torture...

I'm waiting until we move into our house in October but I can't wait to get NFL Sunday Ticket. In Sept I will just have to go over to my buddy Tom's house.

We get a steady diet of both. I can't stand either one, however.

i have dish and have had minor issues, but got free DVR and equipment so i'm happy enough for now. if they ever move my rates, which i'm pretty sure they will after a year i'm gonna call and they can either lower them or i'll switch. it was a much better deal then directtv would give me though, so i went with them

That's the beauty of having a satallite dish. You can constantly talk them in to deals and or giving you something extra just for remaining a customer.
