I realize this is not a new networking site. But I buckled under the other day and registered. Tonight I found one of my roommates from LU that I hadn't heard from in 15 years.

It actually is a decent tool for freelances and folks with specialized skills to interact. But it is much more limited than Facebook and the like.

I signed up for a long time ago but I found it kind of pointless. The only contact I had in it was some guy that went to LU that pretended to know me to network.

I've already had that. But I've also had a couple guys who hire freelancers talk about using me now that they have my contact info handy.

Bumping this up since LinkedIn is proving more useful these days and we now have a Flamefans group:
