This heat is brutal. And the thunderstorms we were hoping for went north of us. Argh. This is my hottest summer in nearly two decades in Texas.

What was that you were saying back in the Spring about it not being "that hot" down there.

108 today. 109 tomorrow. With the wind blowing it feels like a blow dryer.
I was in Bullhead City, AZ once when it was 122 and that's not factoring in the real heat coming off the blacktop.

Our family went to Las Vegas in 97 and the temp was 124. There were black spots under the tires of car from melting.

When I drove to LU this morning, the temp at TRBC said 68 degrees.

It's a pattern...I swear one day here in WV, the high is 62 and the next it's 90+. I wish it would just make up it's mind...AC on or AC off.

Where in WV?
(That's where my parents live and where I grew up).

I thought it was always 72 in Vegas? No matter what the season. Oh, are you talking about outside?

I do remember those comments about how it is hotter in the Burg than some locality in TX... and my friend in AZ would always say "it's hot, like 110, but it's a dry heat." My oven makes dry heat, too.

As someone who will be on a business trip in Phoenix next week, I feel
qualified to say:
"Dry heat is still HOT."

For much of the past month temps in Lynchburg have been similar to Houston. But we're not getting any rain. Coming off the wettest year on record in 2007 we are in the midst of one of the driest right now. Bring on the tropical disturbances.

It has been freezing here in MN until a week ago and now it finally is summer. PA was in the 90 when we got there and then it rained over the weekend and went to the 70's and beautiful. Loving MN right now!

68 degrees and cool in Oklahoma. That is extremely unusual for this time of year. Normally, we are close to or cracking 100 at the end of June.
