Has any random stranger ever cheered you up?

We hear all the time that a simple "hey" to a stranger or holding the door for them can make their day. Has anyone had someone random do something that cheered you up or made you genuinely smile (and not for doing something dumb)?

I was checking out at Wal-Mart and the guy at the register was an older guy who sounded Asian. The way he went about his job and talked to me somehow rubbed off on me and I was in a better mood when I left.

Yea, not our normal topic on here, but hey, it's good to change things up.

I had a stripper only charge me half price once... It made me smile and in a better mood for a week.

When I was in probably 6th or 7th grade, I had a college girl tell me I had a nice smile.

Similarly, when I was outside a venue after a concert recently, a really nice girl from Ohio told me I had nice teeth.

Which is odd, since I'm not a real smiley type of guy.

At another concert a few years ago, I had a random slightly-inebriated college girl tell me to let her know if I wanted to mess around after the show.

I appreciated the offer but didn't take her up on it.

"I've always depended upon the kindness of strangers" (Blanche DuBois in Tenneessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire).

Mr. Gil is probably the happiest little man you'll ever meet. He goes about his job at Wal-Mart with more joy than I do around my office (in a church, for that matter). We used to go in to Wal-Mart late at night just to go through his line.

this one is bad but i guess it fits...when i was a freshman in highschool i went to a cubs game and sat in the bleachers for the first time. i sat on my new sunglasses and broke them and had pop spilled on me and the cubs got murdered....bad day right?...well when the game was over, the lady in front of me was hot..super hot....she turned around and bent over to pick up all their stuff, i could see right down her shirt and could see her boobs, like all of her boobs...she was picking up things for like 15 seconds and i was mesmorized....it certainly cheered up my day.

my wife will kill me for telling that story...

There's a reference to it in Gone in 60 seconds. I don't know if that's where it originated from.

Don't you get bored just sitting on your hand all day?
