Fellow Flamefans, lend me you ears...
Apparently, it's ask and ye shall receive, so get your requests in pronto.
We should have an Eagle in front of DeMoss like other schools (Montana Grizzly, et al.) Thread from almost a year ago to the day.

News posted on Liberty homepage 6/4/08:
I would like to go on record that I would like a million dollars, and I suppose you could throw a national FCS football title in there, too. In a year, I look forward to my millions.

Ummm. You have the best avatar so that's your reward. LUconn is bringing it now, too.
Back to the topic. Well done.

The agle looks sharper than I expected. I'm among those who are in the flame/fire camp. But I really like this look.

I am very pleased with this. Although I am a little bummed that we won't be able to rub it, it's up so high. On the plus side we won't have some retard student spray painting it.

Apparently there is a limit to our influence. This is my quote in that original thread in response to WEF posting a picture of their statue:
LUconn wrote:
I like how they incorporated your actual logo into the eagle's head. That's pretty creative. I'm not a fan of it being so high though. You should be able to touch it.
I think they put it up to spite me.

We've already said its smart to keep it out of reach so nobody messes with it...that cant be more true...this is the same school that think it's wild and crazy to put bubbles in fountains

and spraypaint every rock large enough to stand on. and if a rock's not available, a nearby tree will do.

Meh, every school has soap put in its fountain frequently throughout the year, just ask Longwood. Also, I am willing to bet that some kid will be dumb enough to try something stupid to spray paint the eagle.

The difference in "frequently throughout the year" and "within five minutes of the fountain being turned on" are pretty significant.

have you not seen our bush's spelling out LU?
Seriously though, where would you want it? below the scoreboard or in front of the FOC...where?

well, I'd like it in a place where you walk right by it as you enter. But the students and paying folk go in at different gates. So a good place would be on the island of the proposed rotary that will be right in front of the stadium on that master plan. But then you have the issue of which way it should face. Would it be looking directly away from the stadium or looking at road for incoming visitors. I guess it could just be a statue of fire and that wouldn't be an issue.

A statue of fire that could be lit on fire. Yeah!

Or maybe just another eternal flame on campus *sarcasm on* except make it biggernd put it on top of a statue of fire. Or maybe a replica of the Statue of Liberty, with a torch that actually is fire

*sarcasm off*

Easy solution: put a 440 line to it.
Super Bug/student zapper.

So I'm hoping the eagle is Bronze and not copper. It looks like it is, but I really don't want it to turn green. Something else that's interesting. I was looking at the waterpipes in the fountain and a pipe goes into each pillar. I'm not sure if that's just how they set up the pipe work or if water will be coming out of them I'll have to reserve judgement but I don't know that water flowing out of them would look good.
The eagle and columns are all marble from Italy. They tried to get it from in the US, but it was actually cheaper outside the US. I think it looks great.

I don't think the eagle itself is made of marble. I'm 90% sure it's bronze. Marble's an interesting choice for the pillars. It doesn't really match anything else but you're right, it does look great.
