I'm seeing the bumper stickers more and more and yesterday I saw Statboy on PTI wearing a shirt...anyone know about this?

I mean I can come up with my own conclusions but still is this a religious movement or something?

Hippies who think they're clever. I've seen them where all of the letter are the symbol for something. It's just a modern day peace symbol.

I don't know. There may be some kind of back story behind it that I'm just not aware of. I mean if you take it at face value, sure we coexist with everybody else. We're not out there trying to eliminate them because they're different. But to me, it gives off a "everybody is right in their own way" vibe, and that's :BS

I've been wondering the same thing about it. I've seen bumper stickers a lot lately. Yesterday on PTI was the first time I'd seen it on TV. I like the concept of everybody getting along, if that's what it's really about. I'd like some more information but everything I find seems a bit vague.

I would imagine it's purposefully vague as they probably leave it up to your own interpretation. However, I'd probably wager it's something you would want to distant yourself from.

It screams univeralist to me.

Here's what each of the symbols stands for.

Although Coexist officially owns the registered trademark rights to the image, they did not create it, nor did they get the permission of the artist who did. In fact, they first came across the CoeXisT image when they found the original version on the Internet, reports Intake Weekly, a local Indianapolis publication. The image they discovered was actually the work of Piotr Mlodozeniec, a Polish graphic designer living in Warsaw. He created the CoeXisT image in 2001 for a contest hosted by The Museum on the Seam for Dialogue, Understanding and Coexistence in Jerusalem. For the past four years, the image has been traveling the world in the form of a three meter by five meter poster as a part of The Museum on the Seam's "Coexistence" exhibition.
It's origins are not that sinister.

I grew up in the northeast, that doesn't always mean anything.

I was just giving perspective to him. Not that the Catholic part changes anything. I was just pointing out he wasn't Jewish or Muslim or anything like that.
