Airplane Mechanical Problems

I had an emergency landing this evening in Seattle. I always feel conflicted about these scenarios. Sure I want error on the side of caution. But adding an extra hour and a half to an already 8-hour flight is wiping me out.

Am I alone in secretly despising these situations?

Anybody have airline horror stories of their own?

we once had the air things pop out while we were in line waiting to take off...yeah that was a blast....watching people panic and throw them on while we were on the ground...

thats the only thing i've ever seen...

we also once went through such bad air that the pilot came on and apologized...

Wow...that's funny right there

I wish I could have heard your sarcastic comments during that ordeal!

I have so many I couldn't even begin. Flying anymore is a royal pain in the tail, I feel for ya.

the one time that sticks out the most is taking off hearing a loud clunking sound then circling the city and landing right away and sitting on the runway for over an hour before anybody really told us what was going on...this was in Florida and it was hot and the plane wasn't on at all, so no A/C...it was terrible and a lot of people were angry...they finally brought a shuttle bus over and gave us meal voucher's or something, they never did make a true announcement what went wrong, i just overheard conversations and I guess it was the landing gear wouldn't go up....

it was terrible, and we didn't end up leaving for another 4 hours after that.....they ended up giving everybody free round trip domestic tickets for their next flight with them...so i guess that was ok...

I'll send you some rates for a first class charter service I'm 'familiar' with...I know you're a baller!

I'm not a fan of flying. I think it's just the fact that I don't have control (like I could do a better job  ). A couple years ago I was flying from Miami to Dulles and we went through the worst turbulence I've ever been in. I had pretty much come to terms with my life and was preparing for myself to die. The plane wansn't shaking, it was dropping and jumping like 10 feet at a time. But we made it and I hate flying even more.

they went and strapped themselves into their chairs. And their seats are behind a barrier in the front specifically so you can't see their faces.
