These cartoons kinda sum up my feelings toward ALL our politicians!! (the dems are just more vocal about it than the GOP IMO)

The United States needs to start building nuclear plants now. The future of energy for the next 50 years will be provided through Gas/Oil, Coal, and Nuclear and Hydroelectric. The cycle for building a nuclear plant and adding power to the grid is more than 12 years. If the current applications to build new plants are accepted, it will be 2020 until they are producing power.
It is worth continuing to explore other options (Wind, Solar, Biomass, Refuse Based Fuel, Hydrogen, etc...), but it is not realistic that they can provide enough energy to be a major factor.

I agree. They have done there best to stop the exploration and creation of oil/nuclear power. They need to step out of the way and let market meet the demand.

Oh the things I wish I could say on this subject. My guess is Sandman has plenty of opinions as well.

Forget all of that. I'm heading to the beach to fill up.
Yeah I agree. We need more refineries and more drilling. I'm not against alternative energy but that is years away. Start drilling now. We need to be energy independent.
