NFL schedule came out today. That trumps all other sports.

It's days like today that I'm glad I'm a prof. instead of my old college roommate's chosen profession as a CPA.

I bet every other Friday you wish you were a CPA.

Every CPA that I know makes serious jack this time of year. A profession is not about the pay, but a good CPA can make 5 or 6 years of professor pay in a few months. Sorry CJ.


For me, every April 15th I call my accountant's office and ask them to file an extension. On July 15th, I call and ask them to do it one more time. Maybe this year I'll actually file before the 2nd deadline.

Filed mine yesterday... i get it ALLL back... plus my extra $300 tax stimulus... thanks!

(and no, its not really $600... its only $600 if you OWE 600 or more... then they just deduct it... fine print sucks)

The best part of April 15 is driving past the post office looking at the long lines, knowing I filed mine months ago.

Nope...that just happened on Friday.

we get our w2's on january 5th. i buy turbo tax jan 5th, that weekend i take a half hour and do my taxes...and i'm genrally really really lazy...

If you are self-employed and file quarterlies then April 15th isn't that big of a deal. But this is the one time we file where there is a bonus on the back end.

oh and this is the first year i've had a return over 150 bucks.

but i've fixed that.

If I was in your tax bracket I would do the same. I used to owe every year but now that I am doing contract work and have months at a time off sometimes, we usually get a refund. Actually even back in the day I had a pretty good accountant that could find a ton of deductions...I find it amazing that every April 15th the post offices in every major city are packed with late filers. The thing is it is so easy to just file an extention plus if the government owes you money, you don't have to file on time which is usually the case for most folks.
