I went to Campus Church at TRBC last Wednesday for the first time and I was in the balcony......There was a large audience, and when the music was playing the balcony moved  I thought I was nuts until my wife said something to me.

I am not taking a shot at anything or anyone; however that is a disaster waiting to happen. Either

1. The balcony needs some type of inspection b/c that sucker is coming down
2. The bass is too loud
or
3. Some LU students need to lose some freaking weight

most balcony's are designed to do that these days...now I don't know anything about the TRBC balcony, but my guess would be its designed to sway.

you saw a monitor shaking? :doh

I'm pretty sure this is a brand new building and as with any other large occupancy building, was inspected to death before they were allowed to work with their hardhats off. I wonder if every community has such a distrust of structural engineering as the LU community does.

it's just something to add to the list:

1. Demoss cant support any weight on the top 2 floors
2. A dorm is falling into the ravine (oops, that happened)
3. Dorm 33 has a bad foundation and is splitting in half
4. The Vines Center is also falling into the ravine.
5. The TRBC balcony is going to collapse

I'm sure there are more that I've never heard.

I heard (from a very good source) that at the David Crowder concert the whole balcony was moving up and down 2 or 3 feet!
The wall cracked on one side that night.

The monogram is actually the landing site for Jerry's personal UFO. This is true.

Hey, unless it's going to collapse and send boulder's flinging onto the highway, that's not relavent. However I have heard that didn't even put in a foundation on that thing so it can't even support the weight of a standard UFO! Idiots!

The TRBC balcony was shaking during the David Crowder concert, but they didn't stop the concert because of that. The funniest part was that the sprinkler casings were falling out during and after though, (I was under the balcony) and I think a few people might have been hit as they came down! haha

that could be a problem.
seriously though, I'm sure if there is a problem it is being looked into

They didnt stop the concert. It did draw a lot of concerned looks from the folks standing under the balcony (myself included) who all were hoping it wouldnt fall down
