Well, the FairTax petition serves one purpose: it lets people know who is bad at economics.

I love the idea of less taxes, reduced government spending and a balanced budget...which is why I'm voting for John McCain.
Clinton-Over $50 Billion earmarks (aka pork barrel spending projects) added at her request
Obama-Over $25 Billion earmarks
McCain-$0...thats right, $0 (according to a report that aired on ABC World News Tonight on Wednesday night).

Ok, my numbers were off...Clinton was over $200 million and Obama almost $100 million, but McCain is still $0:

yeah, and earmarks make up like 3% of the national budget. if we really wanted to do something constructive, we could kick the bums off of welfare and save 50% right there. (Yes, 50%!!! The military only makes up about 23%. Chew on that for a second!)

i heard a good description of it yesterday. the only difference between the democrats and republicans is the democrats tax ans spend, the republicans borrow and spend. neither one will cut spending, especially considering the candidates this year

You want to talk about spending.....let's talk illegal immigration
When a fag liberal tells you they are against the war b/c it costs about 200 billion dollars per year, ask them about illegal immigration costs....
In 2007, 390 billion dollars!!!! Yeah, twice that of the war

I hardly think that "welfare" costs 50% of the nat'l budget, unless you're including things such as "social security" and "medicare" as "welfare". And by the way -- guess which party appropriated more money in earmarks? That's right, ladies and gentlemen, your Republican Party!
