I did a search and saw this mentioned only a few brief times over the past few years on this site. To me this is a great Sci-fi series that i still can't believe got cancelled. I know Haize is a fan, but anyone else enjoy this as much as me??

I keep wanting to get into it. I like Nathan Fillion, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that actress who plays the cyborg on the Sarah Connor Chronicles. I've heard nothing but good about Firefly and Serenity.

Fox has shown time and time again that they don't know what they're doing.

Why do you think they have always finished 4th well behind the other three (and that is even with shows like House, 24, Prison Break and American Idol)

Fox typically goes back and forth between 3rd and 4th actually...ABC hasn't done so great these days
but back to the topic, is this the show that Fox decided to start at episode 2 instead of the pilot episode making it very confusing for people to follow?? or is that something else?

You got it....Fox made that decision which is idiotic to say the least.

I loved the movie, one of the best sci-fi's I've ever seen, and one of my favorite movies. The series was also pretty good, although a bit slow-moving at times. But still very high-quality tv. This was an fx series, right?
On another note, mrmcphisto has quite an odd taste in the females, that chick is weird, and gets scripted more on her physical abilities than her looks.

Her name I believe is Summer Glau Can't remember the last name but I do know she is named after a season!! I personally think she is hot but I prefer Jewel Staite who played the mechanic!!
Yes I DO love this series. I have my DVR set to record all episodes of it and Sci Fi channel runs a Firefly marathon everyonce in a while. I may get a Blue Ray just to watch that (and Blade Runner) at its best!! I like the series b/c it is very forlorn. You have this group of people trying to make a living in an ever shrinking window of possibilites. In the back of your mind you know inevitably they will be forced to give in or lose it all, which is what makes the smart alec comments that more poingent (or however you spell it!)
According to the DVR the "first" episodes were episodes 18 and 19 which in a weird way makes sense. They were thinking you shold get into the show and THEN they would spring its origins on you. Didn't like the idea but I thnk that was it.
As for Nathan Fallon, I REALLY liked him in DRIVE but Fox nixed that one as well.
Now the best Sci Fi show out there is Battlestar Galactica but I can't decid whether I like "6" or Starbuck better!!!

Actually, Fox is doing pretty well these days. They've actually been #1 in the big category (males 18-34) for a while now and they bounce back and forth with ABC from #2 to #3 overall. NBC has been the one in the toilet ever since 'Friends' went off the air.

Are you basing that on her and Bonnie Bernstein?

Back to the original point, I own exactly 2 TV series on DVD. 'Firefly' is one of them.
