Agreed. The federal government does not "McGyver" things. I'd put money that this is more of an excuse to test something we've already got.

What we need is Ben Afflec and Bruce Willis to board a shuttle and blow it up with a nuke.

Or, we could have Harrison Ford and some furry guy with a weird voice board a ship and shoot it down.
