I didnt see a thread about it but I wanted to know what everyone thought about the Grammy's?

IMO Kanye West was unreal....and so were some of the shots taken at him after (Vince Gill and Usher)

but what about the winners, performances etc?

All you need to know about this year's awards performances:

I prefer a performance-heavy show over an award/acceptance speech-heavy show, so I liked that about it. Though 3 1/2 hours is too long...they could've cut an hour out of it and it would've been better.

I didn't think any of the performances were bad (even if I didn't like a particular song, I thought they all were performed decently well), though none really stood out. I'd give the show a 'B'. And I'd heard nothing but bad things about Amy Winehouse live performances, so I was surprised that she did as well as she did.

The Grammy's were on? When was that?

I actually haven't paid any attention to the Grammys in a very long time. I like it better that way.

She'll be in Roanoke this weekend...I'm going to see if I can talk Smoothie into hitting up the hot spots hoping we catch her for the after show :D (although I'm pretty sure I havent brought THAT much sexy back!)

Gammy's should be renamed to "Awards Show for Horse Manure"

the show itself wasn't bad...I liked how they brought a lot of history to the show and the performance...but the fact that Fergie (who has 0 talent) is a multi-grammy award winner is enough for the awards themselves to lose complete credibility to me

I hated that fact they had Fergie sing while John Legend played the piano. He was like the pianoman for Fergie. Anyone can play the Piano for her, don't have him on unless you are going to have the man sing. He's got an awesome, soulful voice and it seemed like they missed an opportunity to have a pretty cool duet or something.

Did you see Aretha has beef with Beyonce now? http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/extende ... ticiz.html

Kanye's performance was awesome, and Amy Winehouse deserved all the awards she was nominated for. The gospel part of the show was cool too. I'm surprised Hollywood Execs let them mention Jesus.

I went to the Kanye West concert at the TINY Salem civic center and that guy put on a crazy show, and John legend was his piano man and this was well before he ever had his first album out. It was a great time.

I'm going to need to download Amy Winehouse's album everyone seems to love her and I just dont get it yet

It's a great album, you need to check it out. I remember I was skeptical because Rehab got old real quick, but then I listened to the album and it was awesome.

I'm anxiously waiting for Kanye West's new tour dates. I saw the promotion poster for it not too long ago. He has a solid lineup with Rhianna, N.E.R.D and Lupe Fiasco.

I'm going to hear Jay-z in two months...I agree that will be a great tour and I will be going to that as well

I hope you have Lupe's album...it's great

Yeah, that's another solid album. I was telling a friend of mine like a month ago before the tour lineup came out that I think she should be on the tour, so I was pretty pumped after hearing he would be on the card.

Ha! But the fact remains. Did Adele sing Skyfall and have all the Bond actors appear? If so, I'm sorry I missed that. It is the BEST Bond song ever. Replacing For Your Eyes Only and Tunderball.

How do I know that people today listen to awful music? Michael Jackson only has 13 Grammy Awards, Kanye West has 20. Seriously.

It's truly embarrassing to have this site associated with biblical Christianity sometimes.

I prefer quasi Biblical, mainly Apocryphal Christianity myself. But that's just me.
