Looks like the writers strike is coming to an end. I have already seen tentative plans for Lost. There is a possibilty of extending the TV season through June, thus allowing approx. 4-6 more episodes of Lost for the year :woohoo :dance
LOS ANGELES (Feb. 9) - Hollywood writers got their first look Saturday at details of a tentative agreement with studios that could put the strike-crippled entertainment industry back to work.

A summary of the proposed deal was posted on the Writers Guild of America's Web site hours before members were to attend meetings on the East and West Coasts to voice their opinions. The writers planned to gather behind closed doors Saturday afternoon in New York and later in Los Angeles to consider the deal that guild leaders said "protects a future in which the Internet becomes the primary means of both content creation and delivery."

Here's some of the Lost-related stuff:
DocArzt wrote:I've been talking to people on the other side of the fence for weeks now about what an end to the strike means for Lost and this is what I have for information:

* It will take 4-6 weeks to get back to actual filming.
* NO discussions have been had regarding the logistics of a return to production.
* The industry is planning on extending the TV season to the end of June.
* If the season is extended a maximum of 6 episodes could be produced.
* Regardless, a minimum of 3 new episodes will be produced.
* There has been NO discussion with regards to whether the un-produced episodes will be made up.

Oh no... this means Conan might go back to the normal shows.... I love that he's doing it all now... much funnier without writers, IMO.

But I'm glad that I'll be getting some Office.

Me too. What about 24. Why not run the shows into the summer. Is that such a bad idea?

Ugh. From the Baltimore Sun.
The picture is less clear for big-budget, serialized, action-adventure series such as NBC's Heroes and Fox's 24. There is not enough time before the end of May to play out full story arcs, and the networks have come to understand that even hit shows in this genre lose audience interest when they go on hiatus.

Thus, neither is expected to return until next fall - although the producers of 24 have a finished 12-episode arc that they could get on-air in two weeks.

According to one network executive who spoke on condition of anonymity, however, Fox is leaning toward holding back on 24, because the network has enjoyed such success in recent weeks with new reality series such as Moment of Truth.

The scripts will not be the hold-up in getting these shows on the air. Most of them are written. These guys (for the most part) never stopped writing, they just stopped submitting their work. Production will be the problem.

I think an unscripted version of The Office would be a fun experiment, like Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most of the cast are the writers anyway.
