NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A 6-year-old Plainville, Conn., boy is suffering from a rare food allergy and deer meat is the only solid protein the boy can stomach, according to his family.

Timmy Armstrong has eosinophilic esophagitis, a condition in which food allergies trigger an intense inflammation of the esophagus, according to a report from WTNH News Channel 8.

At the bottom there is a really interesting statement:

the disorder has become widespread in the last 10 to 15 years and that doctors are seeing an average of two new cases a week.

It's funny in some regard, but man I feel sorry for this kid. I can't eat wheat or any wheat byproduct, and its horrible not being able to eat pizza, drink beer, have a sandwhich, etc. Only deer meat, wow.

No doubt this kid is either related to Ted Nugent or MALLET

I was wondering if his last name was Mallet. But then I saw that he lived in Connecticut and not in a bunker located in some remote field.

Hopefully the Game Warden gave this family some kind of special hunting permit...

Depending on where you live, im sure a few people might be willing to help you with that problem.

Those things in the south aren't any bigger than small dogs. Come to CO for a real sized one.

Too bad the boy doesn't live in WV: the state probably has more deer than people.

i'd love to go hunting in CO.

wv has a lot of deer, but so does nc. especially the area where I live.

Wow that's tough...At least you can prepare deer meat a couple different ways if the kid REALLY wants some meat (burger, bbq, roast, etc). My godson is allergic to poultry, which I thought was bad, but this kid has got it worse
