I have Outlook 2003, and was wondering if there was a way to sync the calenders/contacts with my home and work computers? I do not use it for email. Is this possible, and if so, how?

I think that would require the ability to connect to your work server from home.

Or you could just use Google for everything.

yes.

you have to find the file (I think its a .dll file) in the program that contains the info, then save it to a jump drive and shuttle it home, or zip the file and email it to yourself.

then download it into your Outlook at home.

that's how I transf my data from work to home and back (Specifically, contact lists)

The file is a .pst file. Search for it using the option to search hidden files. It is often named Outlook.pst

Otherwise the above steps are right - copy it to a jump drive, carry it home and then copy it into the same location on your home computer. The .pst file is probably big enough that you won't want to e-mail it to yourself.

yikes!

JEAN is right- my IT guy confirms do NOT mess w/ .dll files- you'll screw your whole PC up just like I do on a regular basis.

corrupt .dll = BAAAAADD news

sorry 'bout that and thanks to JEAN for the correction!

There is so much wisdom in this statement. Everyone should make note that it is completely right to be concerned in such a situation.

Doesn't it depend on whether his calendar/contacts at work are saved locally or on a company server?

If he's not using email, he's definitely not sync'ing with Exchange.
