Weather affecting cable/internet?

Is anyone experiencing loss of HD signal and/or internet connectivity that appears to be a result of the weather? I have Comcast (in Lynchburg) and I normally have a decent internet connection and HD signal (through my cable box). Lately, though, with the windier and colder weather, I've virtually lost HD (the picture will be full of artifacts if it even shows up at all - right now it's completely gone) and my internet connection is extremely unreliable (right now I'm leeching off my neighbor because my connection is completely out, and his connection is ridiculously slow).
Is this unusual, and is anyone else seeing this?

Maybe you should call Comcast and let them know? If the weather is affecting it then it seems likely that there's a physical problem that could be fixed.

If the Comcast people in Lynchburg are anything like they are in Lynchburg they will just laugh at you and then raise your rates again.
Have I mentioned lately how much I despise that company?
Keep in mind that many cable companies use antennas for local HD channels and the weather can very much affect over the air reception. However it weather shouldn't affect their satellite reception.

And it definitely shouldn't affect their Internet connection.

I had this problem with my DVR. Three of my HD channels went out (ESPN, ESPN2, & Discovery). They finally came & checked it. My DVR was going bad. They replaced it, & I haven't had problems since.

They're probably very similar.

Internet's back and seems normal, and HD is back to pretty much normal, although it isn't perfect. If the problems come back persistently, I might give Comcast a call or at least email them.

Good luck with that. I'm convinced that Comcastic is Russian for "I take your money and I give you horrendous service, comrade".
