A Season of Champions Spot

I wasn't sure where to put this since it's an honor for all LU's fall sports champions so I put it here. We here at WSET (the station that some folks on here say doesn't like LU lol) have teamed up with Liberty Athletics and some fine sponsors to bring to our airways a 60 second Season of Champions spot. It will start Friday and run for 3 plus weeks (like 50 times or more). It features footage of most everything and pictures for Cross Country, and some cool animation done here. If I can find somewhere to park the spot on the net later today or tomorrow, I'll try to give you guys a look see.

I hesitate to do this because some of you will beat me up no matter how cool others think the spot is. However, I have placed a lower res version of the spot that will begin airing tomorrow here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXgNhcWVWKs . There are still some small changes to be made (including adding a pic of Josh crossing the finish line), but it gives you guys a sneak peek.

Excellent video, Knuckle. All it's missing is a reference to Liberty's 2007 BSC Quiz Bowl champions! :fineprint

it's there, just listen and look more carefully. If you play it backwards, it says, "Paul is dead, LU's Quiz Bowl team is the greatest in the world, Paul is dead."

And, hopefully, his NCAA National Championship can find a spot to be mentioned in there as well. :) The only thing I heard about him was his Big South Championship.

It really is a great vid and I was hesitant to say anything, but that's kind of a big deal.

Yea, I wondered who would catch that. It's hard to fit everything in 1 minute and we were focusing on team acomplishments for everyone else. There's one other comment I'm waiting for though.

It's a good spot. The only thing you could ask for would be video footage of the XC teams but that's probably got to be next to impossible to find. Only problem is I don't think I ever watch WSET.

All the tv shows I watch are on CBS. It's nothing against WSET, I just don't like the ABC shows.

It's OK I stay locked on Discovery, TLC, and History most of the time too.

Oh BTW, there was no cross country footage that we could license for a spot.

I have been critical at times of WSET...but this is great and kudos to Channel 13 for this...very good video, and I think it is something that could help residents realize that Liberty has quality sports....its a start anyways

so as critical as I have been in the past...this goes a long way in my opinion of helping...

Nicely done (with the obvious exception of mention of Josh's national championship) and I don't mind at all seeing sponsors be a part of the ackowledgement.

That's how it will get so much air time. The Josh thing was going to be a graphic, but we decided we liked the look w/o a bunch of lower thirds making it look like a news pkg. Again it is important to focus on the teams with some individual things thrown in, and it was a ton to fit in.

Nice job. I am obviously biased, but I think another 2 seconds to say "National Champion" might have been worth it since the number of football all-conference selections were mentioned. No biggie. Great work!

I still find it funny that the football conference championship banner is above Josh's National Championship banner on the libertyflames.com front page. Whatever. I should be used to this by now.
