Those who live in Richmond, where is the safest place to live and least expensive, like a studio. South side, West Side, East Side, etc? I am looking for a small studio where I maybe staying in the town four days a week.
Thanks

I don't know anything about efficiencies but I like the West End. That is where our house is being built and where our apartment is. It is not too expensive but certainly is not the most affordable place to live. I am a transplant and kinda out of the loop so I will let Manson or someone else talk more.

Its discussions like this that make me wish I had lived in Richmond longer. I was born there but we moved to Portsmouth just before my younger sister was born

Sorry...every time I hear talk of Richmond I remember that I was born there and wish I had spent some time there in my early years. Portsmouth has pretty much been everything I know. Most people I know think I was born in Portsmouth because I lived there so long

Maybe it was the Fan District...

If you want my advice, look for a place in Midlothian.

NOT the east end, unless you want bars on your windows. :D

Either west end or southside. Depends on what/ where you would rather be. You could find something nice and rather inexpensive either place.

you probably want to stay away from the place where everybody gets murdered. Unless you don't mind that type of thing.

Scar can give you some more detailed info regarding the west end since he lives there. I live on the southside. The Short Pump area is really booming right now, but may be pretty expensive.

I've lived in the Richmond area most of my life. You could probably find an efficiency sort of deal in the Fan (city limits of Richmond) or in Carytown (also in the city). A great thing about both of those is that there's always a number of pretty decent cafes / diners within walking distance....plus you have to experience a movie at the The Byrd on a weekend.

Peace,
