Venezuela's dictator, I mean president, lost his bid to ammend the nation's constitution so he could seek re-election forever.
Also, don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard he owns the Citgo gas-station chain here in America...can anyone verify?

Citgo is owned by PetrĂ³leos de Venezuela which is the state run oil company of Venezuela.

pretty sure he can find another way to change the rules before 2012. And yes 711 bailed on Citgo.

He may, but unlike many would-be dictators, he has only nominal support from the military. He has gained power by being ultra-populist and virtually giving away gasoline ($.17/gal) and other commodities he could control. Thank goodness the Venezualian people saw the light before they granted him what would essentially have been dictator-for-life status if this had passed. The guy is not only Castro's best bud, he is certifiable.

He'll get his power if he can get the military support. As Dr. Metallo always says, "Whoever has the guns has the power."
