Arabian Nights

As I have referenced recently in other threads, I am going to be leaving the country today for a couple of weeks on business in the Arabian peninsula. I tell you this to let all of our moderators know that they will be asked to keep a closer eye on things in the meantime. I should have internet access at several locations and I will try to check in.

I might also ask for prayers for Mrs. Sly who will be home alone with three kids 5 & under. Two weeks is a L O N G time to be separated. The suggestions of Skype appear to be a godsend in that regard.

Hopefully I'll have some additions to the FF goes Global thread at some point soon.

I expect a great "around the globe" picture. Possibly with an oil derrick in the background.

Is Sly working for Halliburton?

No, I'm not working for Halliburton or KBR. But those guys do pay VERY well. I'm doing communications consulting and there shouldn't be any car bombs or bullets aimed my way.

And SJ, that's exactly what I was worried about.

I'm doing one last Blackberry check from the cabin of the 777 before takeoff. Thanks for the prayers and the laughs (Blackwater?).

Be good one and all and check Josh in the SI on newstands right now.

Adios

Now that there's funny...the Blackwater quote and Sly...an esteemed journalist...not "getting it."

Get it? I can bring back as many burqas as you like. I spent much of the day at the old souqa here in Doha.

As for Blackwater, I know plenty about the organization. I was making light of the suggestion. Perhaps an emoticon was in order.

I'm having a great time here in the Middle East where EVERYBODY speaks English. I haven't worked any FlameFans gear yet but the pics are forthcoming.

Thanks for the prayers.
