Hi Greg Gumble here, bringing you all todays action from the tournament. So as we near the end of the first round lets take a look at today's games and the possible matchups we could be looking at in the future.

Lets first take you out to the 1 seed Rudolph as he could be the first 1 seed to ever lose in the first round.

Which is the better Christmas Song?
1 Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 41% [ 13 ]
16 Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree 58% [ 18 ]
Total Votes : 31
Although Rudolph is only down by five this is the matchup that has recieved the most votes so it seems as if Rockin Around will indeed pull off the upset and advance to the second round.

So lets check out who the winner of the 1v16 will be facing, as Little Drummer Boy holds a commanding lead over Santa Coming.
Which Song is better?
8 Little Drummer Boy 56% [ 17 ]
9 Santa Claus Is Coming To Town 43% [ 13 ]
Total Votes : 30
At this point this game is just about over, a 6 point lead with not too much time left sets up the second round matchup,

16 Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
8 Little Drummer Boy

Lets take you to the CandyCane Region of the Bracket,

Where Number 5 War is Over is also struggling to avoid the upset against Last Christmas.
Which Christmas song is better?
5 Happy Christmas (War Is Over) 38% [ 10 ]
12 Last Chirstmas 61% [ 16 ]
Total Votes : 26
Now keep in mind, there are some votes left to be dished out, however War is Over needs a Christian Laettner miracle in order to advance to the next round.

On the flip side of this bracket, powerhouse O Holy Night is taking care of business against A Holly Jolly Christmas.
Which Christmas song is better?
4 O Holy Night 78% [ 22 ]
13 A Holly Jolly Christmas 21% [ 6 ]
Total Votes : 28
This game was over right in the beginning, as O Holy Night rides a 12-0 run at the beginning of the game to the second round.

So the second round, bearing any last minute upsets, should look like this
12 Last Christmas
4 O Holy Night

Lefty, why did you leave me? We had a great discussion going on.

Before we move on to the Bottom half of the tournament

Lets talk about the future of the tournament. TGFFCST Director Lou Conn is talked about the idea of expanding the tournament, possibly to 32 teams. There were alot of teams stunned by their absense from the tourney, leading to much complaining from, well mostly Knucklehead. Stay tuned for more action on CBS - The Christmas Broadcasting Station

As we take a look at the 6v11 game.
Which Christmas song is better?
6 Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas 60% [ 15 ]
11 It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year 40% [ 10 ]
Total Votes : 25
Have Yourself seems to have a commanding lead over The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and this one looks just about over folks.

On the flip side of the Frosty Region, youll see that Jingle Bell Rock is easily handling Santa Claus Lane.
Which Christmas song is better?
3 Jingle Bell Rock 74% [ 20 ]
14 Here Comes Santa Claus 25% [ 7 ]
Total Votes : 27
This matchup went just as expected, with Jingle Bell Rock looking very sharp for the rest of the tournament.

So lets take a look at the next round, with
6 Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
taking on
3 Jingle Bell Rock

The Game of The Round is featuring Our 2 and 15 Seed
Which Christmas song is better?
2 White Christmas 48% [ 14 ]
15 O Come All Ye Faithful 51% [ 15 ]
Total Votes : 29
White Christmas making a big comeback after being down early, this one could go down to the wire as we keep you posted.
Definitely keep an eye on this matchup folks, as O Come All Ye Faithful looks to hold on to their lead and make another splash in the upset pool

The winner of that matchup will face Winter Wonderland in the next round, as they came out on all cylinders today.
Which Christmas song is better?
7 Winter Wonderland 71% [ 20 ]
10 (There's No Place Like) Home For The Holidays 28% [ 8 ]
Total Votes : 28

Not what we expected here from a 7 10 matchup, and with the way White Christmas has come out Winter Wonderland has to be pretty fired up about their chances of making the Final Four.

which is why we all think it's you. kidding.

What's the deal with all of the different vote totals? Do people just do a couple of them and then get sick of voting and leave or something?

So As the First Round Comes Closer To An End

Lets look at the matchups for the next round, if the games ended now:

16 Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
8 Little Drummer Boy

12 Last Christmas
4 O Holy Night

6 Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
3 Jingle Bell Rock

7 Winter Wonderland
15 O Come All Ye Faithful

Most of these games are locks at this point, however White Christmas is still only one point away from tying O Come All Ye Faithful.

Sources are telling us it is because voters are upset with the selection committee, so they are refusing to vote on those games.

There is speculation that next year games will be split up, so half of the first round would play on the first day, the second half would play the next day.

Hey Greg, Jim here.

Sorry I'm late, but traffic was terrible on the way to the studio today.

Looks like we will have 4 great matchups for round 2, but watch out for White Christmas as they make a last ditch effort to tie this up.

Do you see this Greg? In what will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in the history of this tournament, White Christmas has come back and taken a 16-15 lead. Only 20 minutes left! I think Faithful is done. They look gassed out there.

Even I think I am a tool. But to be fair, have you seen Chris Collinsworth? He is the Craftsmen of tools.
