Should be totally committed to athletics. Have coach Rocco and the volleyball and soccer coach get up and try to get the students rallied behind our sports programs. Get McKay up there, Coach Green, Coach Toman... get JB up there and and make convocation the biggest Liberty pep rally ever.

Yes, there is, but when you when 5 of 6 conference championships in one season, it deserves to be talked about for an hour, especially for all of the people on our campus who think our teams suck.

I'm sure you'll see this, or something similar, over the next several CFAWs.

If we could get the campus band to play We are the Champions, sure, let there be music.

They'd play the chorus over and over for ten minutes, getting quieter, cutting the music out, and then bringing it all back until everyone in the Vines hates We Are The Champions.

I don't see the difference in talking about sports and talking about politics? when they have politicians in they don't preach, they just spill their agenda

Now...to counter your point. Yes...you are correct...but one of the purpose of convo is to praise the Lord for his blessings...and He has surely blessed this university the past 3 days. I think a special athletics convo would be great...and most appropriate.

I call for a new banner on the top of the front page (hey...we had one for the 100,000th post, why not the best weekend in LU athletics history?)

Big South Champions- Football, Volleyball, Men's Soccer
National Champion- Josh McDougal- Cross Country

All in the span of 48 hours.

My original post was before I knew of Josh's win: now I'm on board for a mostly all athletic convo.

If they sing "Victory in Jesus" as the song...and devote the rest of the time to Athletics...would that make you happy?

I think they ought to have AD barber, Coach Alder, Coach Pinder, Coach Rocco and Josh McDougal on the platform along with having the 3 championships sitting at the front of the platform and Josh wearing his medal around his neck
