Sometimes I can't believe the world we live in.

New technology that can make tanks invisible has been unveiled by the Ministry of Defence.

In secret trials last week, the Army said it had made a vehicle completely disappear and predicted that an invisible tank would be ready for service by 2012.

On the plus side, we are finally catching up to cat technology

There are actually three different approaches to making invisibility technology real. They're all impractical on some level right now (like using cameras and projectors reliably), but as they're developed further I'm convinced someone will figure it out.

I'd like know what kind of projectors they're using that can shoot an image that bright in broad daylight. Those things must be beasts.

a few months ago, drudge had an article about a vest in Japan that made it so you could look through a person. It wasn't clear or invisible but it was a start in that direction.

Yep. It's similar to the tank, but not exactly the same.

The scariest one of all, to me, is the one that some physicists at Duke have been working on. They've actually found a way to bend light waves around subatomic particles so that they're invisible. Obviously that's got pretty limited applications, but as they perfect it, and if it scales well, it'd be pretty nuts. Their work is more like the science fiction staple "cloaking device".

That is a show I regret I never got into. At some time, I will have to watch the DVD's.
