Is it just me or is the box in which you reply all of the sudden double spaced? Or maybe just 1.5 spaced. Also, how did you fix the max bandwidth issue?

The box is the same for me.
The bandwidth issue isn't fixed, it's just fudged. I basically moved the limit up higher than it should be hoping that it won't be an issue again before the 1st (when bandwidth rolls over again). If we hit the limit again, we're just stuck until then. I can't go over on bandwidth. Too expensive.

I've noticed a bit of a slow-down on page loading since some guys started adding those moveable-gif (?) signatures.
am I imagining that or is that part of the issue? if so, we may need to scale back a bit on all the images until the funding issue is resolved.

Those do make the pages load slower because they're large files. However, none of them are hosted on FlameFans. They're all hosted on Imageshack, Photobucket, Flickr, etc. So, they're not contributing to our bandwidth issues.

If you want them off, just give the work and mine is a gonner.

No, they're fine. They're not hosted here so they're not a problem.
As you can see, traffic is up just a little bit.

holy cow is right....it looks like traffic is up by what 4x as much from just 3 months ago? I would imagine since only a few new posters have been contributing a lot, it must be a lot of guests reading the board?

Actually, the majority of the traffic is Google. I'm trying to decide what to do about that right now. When Google is indexing your site like crazy, it's really a blessing if you plan on selling ad space at some point. On the other hand, they're using up a ton of our bandwidth and right now we're not getting any benefit from it. I may have them temporarily stop indexing the site until we get our ducks in a row.
It's hard to complain about Google discovering us, though.

you should ad the google ad sense to the site, the ads it ads are very unnoticeable and they relate to the site, and you make money. My brother did it for his web design site and he makes quite a bit of profit off of it. It also helps move your site up to the top listing when people search for Liberty flames, Liberty University, etc. But im sure you already know this.

Everything is under consideration at this point. But we are hesitant (for lack of a better term) to junk up our clean looking site. But we need to find a solution soon.

paypal donation icon! You get a clean site, money, and you don't have to worry about us trashing on paying advertisers.
edit: unless it's super expensive. I honestly have no idea how much this website costs. But if it's really expensive than I don't think a donation would cover it.

Yeah, we are looking at all sides. The costs of operating this site are going up rapidly but we feel we can get a handle on things.

We're aware of Adsense, but since our site is almost all text at the moment, putting text ads in just doesn't seem appropriate. Thanks, though.

I got a great idea. A toyota forum I lurk at has those google ads in between every like 10 posts or so unless you log in, and then there's none. So if the majority of traffic is guests, they'll see the ads enough to generate some revenue, and at the same time they'll be encouraged to register so they don't have to see them.

I think I may have solved our bandwidth problem. Give me a week and I'll know for sure, but it seems that Google was more responsible than I could have imagined. Stay tuned.
