U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.
I think my dad probably owns a disproportionate percentage of that 270 million. You know, for when China invades.

My family has more guns than people, as do many families out in the middle of nowhere, Virginia.

more guns than people isn't that big of a deal
most families only have 4 or 5 people, and if one of those is a teenage boy then most likely you have a good number of guns.
especially if some of the family is hunters
