Great Problem to Have

You may have noticed that our traffic on FlameFans has been increasingly heavy in recent months. And with the students back on the mountain, its continuing to grow at a rapid rate.
All of the traffic has put us in a position where we are overloading our server. We are working on some solutions to meet the growing demand without draining the wallets of Scorcho and I. We are brainstorming but we ask for your patience if you drop by and see an error message.
We want to build this community into something even greater but we'll be looking for your help. As plans get finalized we'll explain further.

I'm sure this will be shot down, but i don't have a problem with an unobtrusive ad somewhere. You guys are paying for this directly, and although ad-free is nice, if that is what it takes to be able to increase the bandwidth or whatever it is then thats fine by me

We are looking at a number of different options. But we do want to keep these board from being cluttered up as much as possible.

How much does a server cost?

It varies based on the amount of bandwidth and storage you need. Its not insurmountable but it will require us to make some adjustments ... hopefully all for the better.

Flamefans car wash? Krispy Kreme sale? Walk-a-thon? Maybe we can talk Josh McDougal into kicking over some of his Nike contract after he graduates.

FlameFans donation drive? We all spend way too much time on here. It's about time we helped out.

The building that Little Caesar's is in used to be a KK. Then they shut it down, and it sat vacant for a while. Jonathon Falwell turned it into a place called "At the Hop", which was a retro-ish diner type of place. It was decent food, but terribly overpriced. When that shut down, Little Caesar's moved in and it's been there ever since.
With KK in all the financial trouble they've been in recently, I'm not sure how keen they are to open new franchises. Although, they've supposedly told their EVP to take a walk and started restructuring the company. We'll see.
All the same, I'm all for it. My gut isn't getting any smaller and I'd be happy to let fresh KK contribute to it's growth.

Sly and Scorcho, I'm sure you've already got yourself headed in a particular direction, but check out thesabre.com. To help cover some of their costs they require memebers to pay for some "inside" articles and information. You can still get to the message board, but in order to access some recruiting articles, insider reports, etc. you must pay like 10 dollars a month or something like that.
Whatever you guys decide I'm sure we will be fine with. As SJ said, it's time for us to pitch in and help out all that we can.
