PS2 Problem

The other day a buddy of my tripped over the controller chord for my PS2 and it fell off the shelf that it was on (maybe a foot and a half fall). The PS2 works, but the game that was in it (NCAA08) isn't working for some reason. It does the whole "Playstation 2" screen but doesn't go any further than that. All of my other games are working, except for this one. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

How? It was inside the PS2.

perhaps when it fell that something inside moved - due to the fall - and scratched it.

Maybe your PlayStation is frightened of that game now.

I don't know what is going on there but lets make sure its working next week for the tailgate. Unless you want me to bring mine. Also SJ is it the skinny version or the big VCR looking PS2? I guess some folks still have that old model. The old model doesn't play blue ray discs either. Anyway, I am bringing Madden and MLB The Show. Hopefully College football will work, if not JCManson has a copy he can bring. I may not play that though because it messes up my Madden skills. I lost 3 in a row this morning all in OT so my top 1000 in the world ranking took a big hit! So stressful. I may not even look at where I am ranked anymore cause it makes me play tight sometimes. Anyway, I am going on and on. Get that thing working SJ!

MVP Baseball and Guitar Hero work, so it has to be the game. There's a small scratch on the back but it doesn't look like it should be causing this problem. Jon might need to bring his copy down anyways.

i have a cd/dvd repair kit... it works occasionally. i've fixed a few with it, but some are beyond repair

my dad once used an eraser on a cd to try to fix a small scratch. it apparently worked, but the spot on the cd wasn't as shiny looking as the rest, but he could play the CD without any noticeable loss in audio quality.

same thing happened to a guy on our halls ps2. it woudl play some games but some games it wouldn't....it also wouldn't play dvds...he bought a new one and i bought it off of him for 20 bucks....sucka

i called sony, they fixed it for free.

if all your other games play ok then its probably a problem with the disk....clean it...

however you may need to adjust the lense....there is a setting in the settings for this....i can't off hand remember where....1

That was a great 1000th post.

It's an older PS2, so I highly doubt Sony would fix it. If you can let me know the lense thing it'd be great.

so was mine....also, it happened again (didn't fall, the same problem started happening for some reason) last year and i called and apparently there was some flaw in the older ps2s that caused this problem to happen quite frequently....they have to fix it for free up until a certain time...i have no idea when that time is...

This PS2 is at least 5 years old, if not older.

This one too.

BJ, that's a great offer, but I think the PS2 will work, just not that particular game. If you want to bring another controller, that'd be great because I only have one.

ok. My roommate let me have his PS2 and Guitar Hero so I have a red AND a black controller (the black one has a loose whammy bar)

We should have two guitars so that's fine. It's the normal controller I only have one of.

Medic's playing Guitar Hero. That's all I'm saying.
