I talked to someone from Indianapolis the other day. He knew nothing about LU sports except that we had a runner who did a sub 4-minute mile.

yes, i ahte track and cross coutnry and all that stuff, but Josh should have blown them out! sure 40 points and 19 boards is nice, but that's been done plenty of times around the world, but how often can you say you had the fastest time in the WORLD for the year at some point?

Someone is screwing with the voting. Josh had a big lead and then it went to Blair in a huge slew of votes. Internet polls stink!

I'm still unhappy about the women's results...greatest tennis player in Liberty history (Jonita Randolph) doesn't win...grrr

40 against VMI is about 25-30 against a team that plays real basketball. no offense to mclean, 40 a sub 4 minute mile is one of the greatest sport acievements ever, 40 against VMI, well...

i talked to one coach who runs the same stuff as VMI (it originated from Grinell College) and he said the reason why he uses that system is because he "I didn't have the athletes to win a game with real basketball." I am not joking at all.

Grinnell College in Iowa. Did anybody else get junk mail from them when you were a kid wanting you to sell their stuff to earn a college scholarship?

As for the Sparkys, I have no problem with them. They generated some discussions during what normally is a slow time during summer break. Do I agree with most of the results? Not a chance. But I'm cool with the SIDs putting an effort into the official site.

Perhaps the topic title was mis-leading...it is a great idea...it is the voters that are clueless.

Remind me how many times Larry and Manny have been mentioned in the national media for their sports. Okay. Now multiply that number by 100, and it is still 0. Don't get me wrong. They are great at what they do, but they were nowhere near the same level in their sports that Josh is in his.
