Since this seems to be the place to start TV show threads, I figured I would start one on the most intense, thrilling and otherwise realistic show about cops I have ever seen! It is gritty and violent for sure but I can't miss an episode. The season finale still has be scratching my head 4 days later. Anyone else a big Shield fan (FX network)?[/quote]

i have seen every episode and own them all on DVD. i am shocked Lem got killed, but he was a loose cannon, and there was no way vic and the strike team would skate. i think the next season is the last, but an awesome show for sure. very violent, and the language is bad at times. if you can deal with that it is a good show.

what I've seen of the show, I like. I don't get to watch it too often- but as far as the language, its just like being at work so that doesn't really phase me.

Invest in TiVo....you may reconsider marrying Mrs2b and marry your TiVo....I think it runs me 6 or 7 bucks a month....but I'd pay much more for it if I had to, it's great!

I can vouch for the TIVO! It is the best invention for an avid TV watcher. I have been like a spokes person for TIVO for like a year and a half! It is a must have Medic!

I think it's great for people who are not even avid TV viewers...it allows you to just record your 1 or 2 shows that you enjoy and you don't have to make sure your home at a certain time, not to mention it knocks a 30 minute TV show down to a little over 20 and some odd minutes

But it is so much more than that too HMO. Rewinding sports events, watching 2 shows at once (if you have 2 tuners like I do). I can watch on one Tuner, and pause the other tuner and come back to it. That allows you to watch 2 live events simultaneously and not miss a single second of either. But back to the Shield. The writing is incredible. How they can get you to root for 4 (now 3) dirty cops is amazing! Vic Mackey is the most unique character on TV. Forest Whitaker's character was just amazing. He should get an emmy for sure.

If Vic finds out Shane did it, he may kill Shane I think. I am not sure how Vic will respond though because when Dutch was dating his Ex Wife I though he would kill him but he kind of shrugged it off....You didn't like John Cavanaugh? That was a great character created by a great actor in Forest Whitaker.

BEST COP SHOW EVER!
1. Hated Kavanaugh. But that was probably a good job by Forrest b/c I wanted to belt him. How about when he put the move on Vic's wife and TOTALLY botched it. You know VICs daughter is gonna bring THAT UP.
2. LOVED Glen CLose. Wished she would have been back. I think she just did it for grins and giggles.
3. Vic will never kill Shane. Shane will place blame on the Columbian/El Salvadorans, that is why he used a grenade.
4. How about Mr Silent, don't even know his name, the guy on the strike team with a beard? I thnk he had more dialogue this season then the other combined. Glad his agent is doing his job.
The bottom line is this is the archetypical modern drama. (Large phrase, poor spelling) In VIC we have a rotten cop that we all cheer for. In Kavanaugh, we had the good cop we hoped would get framed for the Armenian Money train. They have done a great job making a crooked cop, cheating husband, lousy dad into a hero. I feel no shame for rooting for him ALWAYS!

im a vic mackey fan myself. the way he spins things to work out in his favor is great. i do not think vic will kill shane either. gotta love shane's "dixie" ring tone. somehow i see dutch boy's role increasing next season and his "relationship" with the cute latina cop going to the next level. as for cavanaugh, boy did he ever botch it up with corinne mackey. looking fwd. to next season.

Substitute gritty for realistic and you are back with me?
