OK...I just made the switch, but first thing I noticed....Firefox is SIGNIFICANTLY slower than IE when it comes to pages loading. Is this normal, or is there some setting, program ie. that I can run to fix this? Or is this normal?

I've never had the problem of slow loading pages with Firefox.

i've never had that happen either, but the internet has seemed to have been very up and down the last several weeks in regards to speed, both at home and other places. maybe you just ran into one of the down moments.

I made the switch to Firefox about 2 years ago. I never had any trouble with pages loading slowly. There are a few sites (usually financial) that require IE and except for those exceptions, I do not intend to use IE again.

there's an extension called IE tab. all you have to do is click an icon in the progress bar and it will basically turn that tab into internet explorer.

Firefox should be faster than IE, under most circumstances. I've not really run into any situations where it's significantly slower. However, there's no accounting for individual computers and there could be a valid reason why it's slow on your machine. It's hard to troubleshoot that sort of thing without being able to dig in.

Is there a way to change the default font? It is really hard to read on some webpages.

is the font too small, or is the font just hard to read in general?

It is small, and really light...needs to be "bolded"

I've been a Firefox devotee for about 5-6 years. I have to use IE at work but its nothing but Firefox at home. It generally loads pages faster on my desktop.

Look in the Preferences/Options for the content tab. You can set the default font size and type there.

Beware of this extension, though... I used it for a while, then all of a sudden it started crashing the browser everytime I used it. I was forced to uninstall the extension and use IE again.

one of the places I worked used it,

hated it, hated it, hated it.

pages would sit and load, load, load and NEVER finish loading.

switched back to IE- presto chango, no more problems.

maybe it depends on the machine- but I've NEVER had success w/ Firefox.
