A Sea Of Red

Looks like the entire campus is down. I went into CN at 530 this AM to get some studying done for a test...no internet...so I figured the construction folks cut a line. Wondered over to the TE building...got a wireless signal but no connection. Finally, had to come home at 6 AM to study for my 8 AM test today...and cannot log in to any LU site at all.

We're completely crippled in our office without Molly. It's kind of nice to have a low-key morning, though.

Wooooo 9:45 and it's back up.

That hour and 45 minutes of paying complete attention was weird.

Two words: FM 200.

If you don't know what that means, I can't explain the madness of my morning to you.

Did this have anything to do with the fire alarms going off in NC at 530 in the morning...

I was checking my email this morning and had trouble. It works now but as a question to Scorcho, did whatever caused the network issues earlier affect the email servers?

It was a power outage according to the Splash page and yes, it effected everything.

i still can't check me email.

Email should be up.

The update is that we're not completely functional in CN due to a major electrical problem. Until the electricians and fire suppression company finish assessing the situation, we won't be coming back online completely. We also have to wait on insurance companies and a special cleaning crew to come through.

If you've never heard an FM 200 system dump right behind your back, it's a harrowing experience. (Think shotgun blast with no warning.)

It was a good time to be there alone.

I imagine this came in handy in the immediate aftermath...

Isn't FM 200 the Waterless fire protection for stuff like servers and compter stuff? they started replacing the old Halon units with the New FM 200 right? My dad has that at his work (CNN) i believe
